Ship date was today, Monday, and was notified by USPS of an arrival date by Saturday 9 pm

I ordered some earlier that are supposed to arrive this fall(from a breeder) I am close to canceling the order because my luck it would happen to me too.I'm sorry it didn't work out!
I usually do go through breeders but these are a friend who we trade eggs now and then. It's still a big deal as she was having me hatch ones she didn't have room or time for to see how they turned out, plus some silkies I may have kept.

Usually I go through breeders as opposed to eBay, and one shipment this spring was similarly delayed, but on the 6th day, she shipped me a whole new batch. Ironically, both boxes showed up the same day. She didn't want any money for it, but I sent her shipping costs back as this wasn't her fault.

Has anyone had the experience of having a USPS arrival date six days after shipping? I ordered from Cackle Hatchery via The Chicken Coop Company who said they have no control over what the postal service does. I'm livid. Seems they're sending them off knowing that they will for sure be dead upon arrival. It makes me sick to think of their suffering, and needlessly. If holiday weeks create a problem for delivery of live animals, I don't get why they ship live animals on holiday weeks. So, I won't be picking up six dead chicks. It sickens me.
We're into the next week now, and from some of your other posts I gather that the chicks did arrive. When did they show up?
