Today I picked up my first chickins - 2 Buff Cochins and 2 Blue Cochins. By the way this is my first ever thread. The little girls are much fun though compeletly different than the breeds my local Hardware store had me planning for. i just got tired of waiting and preparing, my store promised me these would be friendly and a decent egg production. Hope that is the case. On Friday I need to get two more Ameracana (sp) - that is because my husband wants blue eggs. ? go figure - I am just glad I talked him into rebuilding a coop. My main concern is not doing anything wrong to endanger the birds. I alos like the fact that these birds were born on Easter weekend- good luck I hope! The names are June-Bug,Jiller (after my sis Jill),Jezabel, and Ju-Ju-Bee. One of the new birds will be named Jonette (combo of nieces JoAnn and Annette)- hopethe name fits one of them.....
