Hi Mike here from New Hampshire,
I just got my NH Reds & Barred Rocks from my local Agway store. I had to order 12 (as to some NH law) but split them with a friend, so I've got 3 reds & 3 rocks.

It's been 3 days now and I can't stop watching them (as well as our cats), I keep them in a wire dog crate in the kitchen next to the sliding door for sun.

My plan is to let them free range in my yard and I can't wait to see them out there eating all the bugs.

Welcome from another newbie in NH!!! Mine are 2-9 weeks old now. (Going back to the feed store is very dangerous!)

Enjoy!

Welcome from California. You'll have such fun with your chicks. They are beautiful little things! Be forewarned......your chickens will go after every bug but also every living green thing on your property. I love to garden with my chickens but can't let them free range or there would be nothing left! I love them anyway! Best of luck!
