My first chicks

The EE chicks have the chipmunk stripes? Or are all the chicks in those pictures EEs of different colors? I can't wait until I have the set up for hatching. Maybe because my youngest child is now 8 and my oldest is about to turn 14. I need a baby fix lol! I have so enjoyed having two rounds of chicks this year so hatching their babies next year will be something to look forward to.

They all have the chipmunk stripe .. Some are just such a light blue/lavender, it's almost not there.. They are ALL EEs, they are from my EE breeding group of 3 hens and 1 roo. I am going to be buying 3 more hens though and just hold out till they lay.. I want color, so am a little pickier now...

Here is the last pick from these guys. They went to their new home yesterday. Thankfully we are friends and he will send me pictures as they get older. I did keep one and had a russian orloff chick hatch too..

I have more in the incubator.. 6 ee eggs for a friend and for me, 1 lavender orpingtonXcream legbar, 2 lavender oringtonXproduction red and 2 pure lavender orpington

The orloff chick .. I won't beable to keep him now.. just found out he's a bantam and I'm afraid my hens wil kill him fully grown or not

My sister has bantams and rir and they do really well together. But if they are showing aggression then it probably would be best to find him a home. I would take him to be with my splash bantam girls if we could figure out a way.

Ya, my hens here can be mean. I guess ill figure something out once I figure out wether its a boy (hope) or girl. He's gorgeous! Pictures make him look funny though..

Speaking of your mean chickens. How is your hen that almost had her head pecked off doing? I was really amazed at how fast she was healing.
