Sorry my wife has decided that I will be building a big playhouse for the kids as soon as the hen house is finished. She tried to talk me into building a smaller coop and giving the kids the hen house. Not going to happen.

You tell her. A man has to have his priorities straight.

You are really setting the standards to high for the rest of us...I'm not sure my wife would want a shed built that nice so the chickens can poop in it....if she see's anything of this post I'm in the chicken coop.I have to may honey doo's would here...not to ment my unfinished coop project....looks great however, enjoy the pic's.

Thanks for the kind words.

oh my gosh, that's so cute! You won't regret it!

And, by the way, they DO poop everywhere, but paint the interior and it's easy enough to keep clean. Mine is not bad at all....

It was so windy today I couldn't finish the roof and had to stop sheeting the walls but I did make progress.

I built the nest boxes. View from inside.

Outside view. In the future I will cut holes for hinged doors for each nest box for easy egg retrieval.

Finished plywood on these walls.

I have to finish the plywood on the back of the roof and east side wall. Temperature was great just to windy to finish.

Wow! Where did you learn to do that? I wish I had your skills. I'm trying to figure out how to build a simple brooder box for the barn and barely know where to start.

Not sure. Id like to use vinyl siding but i've been laid off for 6 weeks now and they said it could be another 6 to 8 months, so im open to any cheaper suggestions that could work for the time being. I could always do the vinyl later.
