I love those too..I have about 6 really old wood doors that have been salvaged. I am always dreaming about what i am going to do with them.

I don't know if your ladder is going to be strong enough... Orps are big heavy birds... 9 to 12lbs. I think I would frame the back of it with 2x4s. So far it is looking good.

Have you seen where people have hinged old doors together and turned them into room partitions? Very neat way to use them.

We have a lot of stuff I plan on using like that too. Just got 150' + of chain link salvaged. Am going to use it to coyote proof the outdoor run. Between that and cattle wire we should be good. Unfortunately the heavens decided to open up this evening so it may not be out into use until next year.

I think I am going to replace the roost perch I have with a thick sapling. Any thoughts on that?
