This morning I dispatched 7 of my roos. :hitMy first time and I'm crying inside for each of them. But it had to be done. I grew up on a farm and helped my mom dispatch and butcher anything from chicken to pigs... but never felt so heartbroken for them. I just hope that the time they lived under my care, they were happy roos. A new batch of eggs should be hatching today or tomorrow. Maybe it will cheer me up. I love baby quail! :love

Now I just need to find a fail proof quail recipe! Does anyone have one?

I usually sell any extra roo's I have but I did not get rid of any last year, decided to use the young roo's for mating purposes instead. This year I am going to get down to business and put them in the freezer or can. The price of meat in the store is getting ridiculous!

we stuffed one with rosemary, parsley, garlic and all sorts of stuff like that, and then we rotisseried it. it was hard to kill it, but it was tasty.

I butterflied mine and it made grilling easy. Maybe I’ll try to leave them with a cavity next time and rotisserie. How long was the cooking time approximately?

I've been doing it like this. Works great even when they're skinned:
