Hello đź‘‹. The day before yesterday I found my first duck egg from one of my two new white Campbell ducks. They recently have turned about 140 days old and I was just wandering will it take them a while to go into laying eggs daily or will they a lot straight away? Plus it has a weird dark green mark on it was is that?
Thanks!

First, congratulations on the first egg -- I have no idea about the green mark. Could it be something the egg rubbed against when it was freshly laid and still a bit damp? I've had some darker discolorations on some of my duck eggs, but nothing quite so vibrant.

My experience with ducks is with Indian runners only. Of my four newest girls, who are about five months old, only one has begun laying. She started last week and has produced six eggs in about eight days. None of the mature ducks is laying right now, and I won't be surprised if my other newbies wait until spring to start producing.
