My first duck hatched.....UGLY

OMG you guys should have warned me, I didn't think a duck could be so ugly..Poor little guy.. He can't even turn into a swan because he's a duck.

It's already been an hour, when I got home he was stuck in the shell, I got warm water and a Q-tip and help loosen the dried up membrane and he popped right out. I took this picture about two hours after I got him out. HE's NOT CHANGING YET.. ha ha ha.

Is there a way to tell if it's a boy or a girl? At what age can you if you can't at this age.. What kind of duck do you think he is? To think, I have 3 more that are cracked, I hope they look better.. lol
