My first ducklings!

Is it very cold at night where you live at the moment? I have just had a look and they are all over the far side of the pool rather than near or under the light. They were all snuggled up and looked comfy- but it was interesting to see that they werent needing the extra warmth during a time of darkness when it is usually colder. I will have to see if I can view it on the computer at work ( many sites are blocked ) It sure would make the day go faster to be able to sit and watch the ducklings occasionally throughout the day. Very cute Duckies!!

So it turns out if you try to joke about ducklings getting eaten by bigger ducklings on facebook, you get about half a dozen freaked out people convinced that you have actual cannibal ducklings in your brooder.

Ok, two weeks in and they are HUGE! If they keep growing at this rate they'll be fighting crime in no time. Here they are on their first trip out to the lawn.

Here is their favorite hangout spot.

Here is Kola doing her first little bit of duck herding. She's half border collie and a pretty decent herding dog when she wants to be.

when it gets warmer I'll show them the pond. Someday they'll get a bigger one, but there is a small ornamental pond that came with the yard. Nice shallow slopes to the sides, perfect for ducklings.

I wondered where they were. I went to look at the duck-cam and they were gone! Glad they had a fun time outdoors. They've gotten so big!

growing like weeds is a silly expression. They should say, "growing like ducklings." They are supposed to be growing like this right? I don't have some sort of strange mutant ducks?
