My first egg!!!

I'm so excited! My all white EE just laid her very first egg! It's the first egg from my flock! I noticed recently she started doing that little squat thing when I would try to pet her, and also that her comb got a bit larger and more red, but it's a pea comb and very tiny still.

Today I actually thought she was lost or something had happened to her because she was MIA, but after a bit of a search I found her in the nest box. I let her be, and a couple hours later I came back to find the egg. And it's blue!!

It's a tiny little thing but so cute!

Super exciting!!
I am patiently waiting as I have several that started squatting earlier this wk and their combs and wattles have definetly gotten bigger and redder!!

Don't be surprised if they lay their first egg outside the next box. It happens frequently. Put a fake egg or golf ball in the nest boxes and they'll quickly learn to go there.

I do have balls in their nesting boxes...I had bought ping-pong balls.... and in the boxes they sit bahahahaha...with no egg
