I have some layers that are 4 1/2 months old. We went out to fill feeders this afternoon and we had 2 eggs!!!!!! I feed them lots of compost. I work at a farm stand so they get lots and I mean lots of compost. We also have some 3 month old layers with them. Should I change over to layer food or continue to feed them grower, seens how there are others that arent old enough to lay yet? I am so excited, isnt 4 1/2 months early? They were small eggs, but there eggs!!!!

Continue with the feed you are giving them now and you can give them oyster shell for the added calcium until they are all laying. Feed to the youngest! Otherwise, the younger ones get too much calcium and can harm them.
