My first Eggs

I had to travel out of town this weekend to my farm down in KY and of course my chickens lay their first 2 eggs. One froze and cracked but the other was just fine. I also got one this morning. I fell like a kid with a new toy...lol...I use some lights and put some cayeene in the water and now they are laying. Thanks for such good advice on the sight. I am holding off the urge for more pullets...lol...3 is enough for now in the setting I have them.

That is wonderful!!!! It is soo much fun collecting the eggs... hate to hear that one cracked. Time to give them a little layer feed and oyster shell for calcium with that it should thicken the shells up to prevent more cracks. You got an early Christmas gift from the girls!!!!

it does feel good.....lol....I have been feeding them layer mash and oyster shell. I think the egg just froze and cracked.
