I was where you are in Feb. of this year. I loved every moment of my first flock, and didn't want to leave. Chicks are addictive, and I am sure you aren't telling yourself that this will be your last flock because if you are like most of us addicts, it won't be. I love chickens and learn something new everyday that I work with them.

What breeds did you get?

I got 5 Rhodes Island Reds, 5 Barred Rockes, and 5 sex-links. They are all supposed to be Pullets. I bought the brooder from Double R Supply, along with a Hula Incubator set. We hope to hatch some of our own in the future. The whole incubation process looks alot more difficult than I had ever imagined!

This is so true... they are addictive... my husband and I started out with 6.... then about a month later we got 6 more.... we just home our neighbors don't complain, but they are bantams, so maybe since they will be smaller they wont notice. LOL.

We just love all of our babies, which includes two wonderful cats as well.

I love the outside feeder, I bet they don't waste near as much feed. I will have to incorporate that idea in my new brooders, Thanks!
