I went to move them to the hatcher for lockdown tonight...And saw one looking like it had weeped and was no good... Anyway it didnt smell bad- so I put it in the hatcher. After not being able to candle the eggs... It finially got the better of me about an hour later and I took it out - turned it 90 degrees and set it on the top of the bator And watched it jerkily roll around...ITS STILL ALIVE in there... Anyway..it has pipped and now a tiny piece of shell has come away too

I am so excited These are my first Quail...I only have 7 eggs in there...and so far nothing fromthe other eggs.... But hopefully inthe morning i might see something hapening with the other eggs. I must go get the brooder ready... Adjustments need to be made to the height of the lamp for such tiny babies.

I sure will..... My first quail babies.... I will be afraid to pick them up they are so small... I am used to ducklings- not such dainty little chicks.

They are white jap quail- but aslo one tuxedo as well..My daughter wanted quail for ages and a guy I know was selling off the last off his- So I just bought all he had left. 11 Of them... I have had to seperate out a young male already after he was attacked. I have only had them a month now- So still learning.
