My first ever!

My hen just hatched her first egg! We're so excited. How long will she sit on the egg now. The baby is trying to come out of the egg. But she is still sitting on it. It has everything off except what is on its head. Should I bring it out from underneath her so that maybe it can get out of the rest of the egg? Please Help.

You could try to get the shell off of its head if momma hen will let you, as well as remove the rest of the shell from under mom. If she is a good momma hen, she will stay tight on that baby, keeping it warm until she shows it where to get food and water. Do you have that nearby her?

Yes, we have food and water near her. Thank you. I checked on the chick and the egg was finally all off the chick. Papa roo is in there with them I hope that is O.K.. Will try tp get pics as soon as I can.
