My first external pips!!! Day 20?

Hey...newbie question...my oldest chick is nearing 24 hours...and will peck at food in my hand but wont feed from the feeder...how do i get her to know where and how? Should i make a mash? Just at a loss...
Also, its pecking at the new ones to the point i had to separate them? Normal?

Hows it going this morning?
And if i may ask...surgery go well?
Yes the surgery went well thank you :thumbsup The chicks are doing good too. 15 have hatched and I’m still waiting on 6 Wyandottes and 1 Brahma. I figured some of them have been in the incubator for almost 36 hours so I removed the dry ones and they’re now in the brooder. How’s your chicks?

Fouur hatched...one assisted, all barnyard. Have 6 pips and thank the lord theyre the marans and olive eggers i wanted so badly. Shells are hard on those...so while not looking to assist, halfway expecting it.
Great news about the chicks and surgery!!!

That’s excellent news. Congratulations :D I’ll see how my last ones do but I fear they may need helping if they’re not out by the morning. All but one of the unhatched eggs are shipped and have awful saddle air cells so I was half expecting it too.
