I'm so excited!....I got my very first green egg today! I've had chickens for a few years now but this is my first time w/ 'easter eggers'.
Here it is just as it was layed (next to a bl. minorca pullet egg)

That's funny, '4 Love of Baby Chickens' cuz I have another white EE and her name is Marshmallow, too.

I would LOVE to have one (I have 4 EE's in all) that lays blue eggs.

What a lovely shade of green! Though it comes out more of a blue on my screen. But, I'll take your word for it. Regardless, it's just a very lovely shade of

Be sure to give Sugar extra treats for such a job well done!!

16 weeks and 6 days you say? Is that how old she is or how long you've had her? Or both? I thought they had to be at least something like 22-24 weeks of age before they start laying.

All of mine have been around that age before they started. Do EE's begin laying earlier than other breeds?

I just gotta get me some of those EE's!! Beautiful bird and very pretty eggs!! Thanks for showing us Sugar's first efforts!

Yep...she's basicly 17 weeks old...that is pretty early but from what I hear, not uncommom w/ EE's. I have a red sex link that started at 18 weeks but most of my other breeds have waited til at least 20 weeks.
