My First Hatch-A-Long-- Herb Theme (first hatch EVER)

Day 13, 5 days until lockdown. I have confirmed that silkie #5, Paprika, likely died between day 9-10 and has been removed.

All 14 of the other eggs have movement, growing air cells, and are heavier. #11, Parsley, is still upright in its little egg bra and is looking good. Poor little scrambled thing.

I will set up the nursery brooder on day 18. The chicks will live there for 2 ish weeks until we have the bigger brooder in the coop ready for them. I will be using a heating plate for both brooders.

Good afternoon, herb eggies! Make little Paprika proud!

I will probably candle one more time tomorrow to make sure everyone is still alive before lockdown on Friday. I know that embryos of all species die all the time, and a 14/15 live rate at this stage is great, but I can't help but wonder if anything went wrong on my end.

Hoping for at least 10 to hatch this weekend/early next week!
