My first Hatch. Itzy and Ditzy's BBS Cochin eggs

Don't stress yourself out. I'm sure they won't all be duds, silly! Do you remember how I was convinced none of my shipped eggs would develop?

You might be able to see something on Sunday! The duck eggs take 28 days to hatch instead of the 21 for chickens, and I could see a couple tiny embryos on duck egg day 5 if you recall!

I know it seems slow right now but it will be hatch day before you know it!

Think it is more that Itzy hasn't proven himself yet and I have tried looking for bullseyes on some of the other eggs (even her few before I set these ones) and I can't figure out if there is one or not. She laid today again (5 in a row which she hadn't done yet!) and I am so tempted to crack it open just to see if it looks fertilized but trying not to "waste" it just to check, since I am not making anything with it right now. haahaa.

I remember yours seemed so fast on this side of the screen. hahaaa. I keep hoping that once I see something it will help speed up the time a little bit!

I took some last time with my phone (from her first couple eggs) and noone could really tell or even see the "spot" to see if there was a bullseye. I may try to take one with my daughters phone that is better and see if it can be seen. Hopefully this egg is easier to see. I had to take a spoon last time and try to gently flip the yolk over and over to even find it before. I even compared it to Annabelle's (that I knew 100% he had mated with at that time) and couldn't really see or tell. I have since seen him once with Ditzy but I barely see him mating anyone. He dances a lot next to them and they run away and he looks like he hangs his head all sad that they don't love him. haaha. But I am assuming he is mating them and I am just not seeing it. He is a roo after all.

I see the bullseye! It's like a faint halo ring, but it's definitely there. How exciting!

Are you gonna candle tomorrow??

I think I may try egg #1, 5 and 10. so 1 that was 2 weeks old when I put it in (laid 3/9), one that was laid 3/15 so 8 days before I set them, and the one laid the day I set them. hopefully I will see a hint of something in at least 1 of those. Then I will do my best to wait till Tue (day 6) to candle the rest to see how any look.

Not sure if the ring is so light since it was only laid a couple hours before I cracked it open to check?

I have been a mess over the temp in there since the 3 thermometers were saying different things. Then someone mentioned a meat one that you can calibrate and then compare it to the others so did that. then put them in and they were still showing different temps even after I figured out what "should" be the right temp. the one that should have been right on was saying low etc. Finally I was just going to leave it and figure it was good and wing it. Then today I bought a govee one that goes to an app and calibrated that (hopefully right) and put it in and it is saying it is right around 99.2-99.8 in there so just about right on so hopefully now I can relax with this part of it. Man this has been stressful and I am only 3 days in! LOL

It is SO HARD to see those really early veins and red spot (embryo), so hopefully a couple more days will show some babies growing in there!
