My first hatch :)

I am currently in lock down with that incubator. I think it is great so far as long as you used the YouTube videos to calibrate it. I out 7 eggs in. One stopped developing around day 14 or 15. Other 6 are now in lock down. I can see them Rocking away.

Had a brower top hatch incubator before. It was too high, and still air. I only had a 65% success rate with it. I have read on here with people getting 100% hatch rates with this incubator. So I am hopeful!

Good luck with your hatch!!!

I'm on Day 12 now - I'll candle one more time just before lockdown so I can remove any that have stopped developing. I'm hopeful as well - I never really intended to incubate any eggs, but when gifted a half dozen of a breed that I just bought 5 chicks of...well. Ok :)

If I get 100% on the hatch and everyone makes it, I'll be at 29 chickens. Of course - I've got a few cockerel's that will either get given away or go into the freezer camp.

I miss having Brahmas. We are in town and not supposed to havw more than 12 living things on our property. 8 chickens, 8 people, 2 dogs, 1 tortoise & 2 cats... Hmmmm....

Had to sell my Brahmas so my kids could get smaller show birds. We have silkies now. Hoping my neighbors don't complain about our rooster. Just 1 and he's not as loud as a Brahma rooster. Can you post pics of your Brahmas?

Sorry - I sure can :) I'll try to post a few more later .. all of mine right now are still babies - I've got a pair of buff brahmas, a pair of dark brahmas, 5 straight run blue partridge brahmas, and 6 buff partridge brahma eggs in the incubator.

Here's a couple of pics of my dark and buff brahma pullets - they are 7 weeks old and growing like crazy. The dark one's name is Fluisa - the dark brahma cockerel is "Duece Bigalow" .. when he was a hatchling, he had two distinguished dots on top of his head. Fluisa is my favorite of all my chicks .. she loves to cuddle in my lap and snuggle in for rubs and pets.

The buff brahma pullet is "Purdy" short for Perdue..as in Perdue Chicken. The buff brahma cockerel is Tyson... we're still not sure if he's going to live out life as a Rooster or if he's going to freezer camp. I think he'll make the cut, if he learns to not be so noisy. As much as he screams in cheep-cheep mode...I dread the noise he'll make once he begins to crow. Hopefully he'll grow out of it tho and be a good breeding mate.
