My first hatch

We set 6 buff orpington eggs on November first . My 8 year old son has asked for only chickens and chicken suplies for Christmas ! I never even dreamed that I would own chicken. But how could I miss a great opportunity to teach my little guy so much . He has been so excited and even picked out the breed that would be best for us. We made our incubater and ordered the eggs online. We knew that the hatch rate of shipped eggs is lower than normal but wanted to give it a shot. To our surprise at day 4 I candeled the eggs and all six have veins !! I was amazed . Please wish us luck on our first chicken/egg adventure.

Glad you joined the flock. Great to hear your son interested in chickens and the hatching process there is nothing better than hatching and rearing them for yourself it's such a rewarding experience. Also great for getting kids outdoors in the fresh air.
