Does this look like it may have the frizzle gene? Grace is about 3 weeks old. Rooster is RIR/silkie mix and I believe the mom is a light brahma.

Something else going on in the mix as the chick has a beard and muffs.

No, I do not believe it is frizzled. One parent would need to be frizzled as well. Sometimes chicks just get a funky first set of feathers. They will likely regrow smooth after her first molt.

OP mentioned the dad was a RIR/Silkie. The Silkie could have been a bearded Silkie.
 
Can Silkies not have muffs? I thought beards and muffs are both the result of a dominant gene. :idunno
I would imagine that a chick that is only 1/4 Silkie at most, wouldn't have muffs that pronounced. Just an observation after seeing hundreds of Silkie mixes.

She could be Americana Mom also. Which would make sense about th beard and muffs.
