My first incubation experience!

I am getting bit desperate. I put around a dozen eggs in the bator, which are now due hatch. Only 3 of them hatched yet. Others are showing no sign i.e. pecking, wobbling etc.. It's 23rd day now. I have read on BYC that they can go till 25th. Any ideas?

I thin they can go quite a bit further...don't lose hope...if the oths popped out then you've done the right things. It could be the others were produced on later days and will just take a bit longer. Can you hear any chirping or see movement?
Still feeling sad about Smallie. I have had adult fatalities before, mainly foxes...we get quite a lot round here.

I haven't. Let's just wait for two more days, keeping fingers crossed.

Cats are the main reason here. Though, that's not the case in most of the cases. I have lost most due to diseases.

I've still got 2 eggs in the incubator...I have no idea when they were first produced so don't know when they're due to pop! They probably won't but just keeping then in there and turning just in case. Can't see any movement so may come to nothing. The chicks and ducklings that have hatched are doing really well...getting quite a lot bigger. How long do you think they need to be in the brooder before I put them in the coup with the adult hen I've got. She is called Pie!

2 have hatched so far and a third almost hatched..... lots of movement with the others.....super excited

One other thing.....they are still in the incubator and chick #2 has slimy stuff on its rear.....what's that
