My first incubation experience!

One other thing.....they are still in the incubator and chick #2 has slimy stuff on its rear.....what's that
Let him be in the bator for quite awhile. I have read on BYC that they can survive for three days without food or water as they got the nourishment needed from the yolk that gets into their tummy while hatching. Though, I moved mines when their fur gets dried up. You can though post pics here. May be someone more experienced can help.

I've still got 2 eggs in the incubator...I have no idea when they were first produced so don't know when they're due to pop! They probably won't but just keeping then in there and turning just in case. Can't see any movement so may come to nothing. The chicks and ducklings that have hatched are doing really well...getting quite a lot bigger. How long do you think they need to be in the brooder before I put them in the coup with the adult hen I've got. She is called Pie!
What I have learnt from BYC is that they should be kept in controlled environment i.e. bator for around 8 weeks. Though, they should be gradually brought to the condition they'd be in after moving them in the coops. People here suggest to lower their brooder temperature by 5 degrees each week, and introducing them to the outside, completely assisted and monitored, intermittently. You can get more detailed resources in the learning section here.

My 2 little ducklings having a swim in the bath. They now have names, Flash and Smokey. Smokey likes to dive under the water and pop up at the other end of the tub!

Any progress Ahmedamir?
Nop :(. I guess I lost them. I am thinking to have an eggtopsy by tomorrow may be. The first chick hatched on last Wednesday 8th May, Night around 10 PM. The other one around 1-2 hour later. The third one hatched in the following morning.

Sorry to hear the rest haven't hatched. Perhaps it just wasn't to be. At least you have some to be getting on with though. Maybe you can get another batch on the go?
