Just set my first incubation. Got 14 standard Wheaten/Blue Wheaten/Splash Wheaten Ameraucana eggs from Gypsyhen.com. They were packaged perfectly and all in great shape. I just expected blue/blue tinted eggs, they all seem white. May be a hint of blue, they are also kind of small. Are these normal?

They all look like bantams? Or is that just the photo? I actually ordered some BBS & Silver eggs from Rachel recently, these are the only colors of Ameraucana she lists on the website?

Here is the listing. If that doesn’t work right here is the description.

This listing is for 10+ Blue Wheaten/ Splash Wheaten Ameraucana Hatching Eggs. This year we have a pen with splash wheaten roosters over splash wheaten and blue wheaten hens. There is one wheaten hen in this pen. Eggs will hatch mostly splash wheaten and blue wheaten. I am hatching mostly blue wheatens here. Flocks are NPIP AI tested MO #43-913

Lots of ameraucana breeders are after body type and sky blue eggs . Or so they call them . Put the egg on white paper maybe the blue tint will show up . I prefer the blue egg of the EEs . My self blue Ameraucanas lay blue eggs and are a bit on the small side .There is nothing in this add about bantams. So looks like you won't know until they hatch and grow out . Good luck. Btw ebay doesn't websites in adds that one must have slipped buy them . when the catch it they will pull the add .

I also prefer EE for their vivid egg color. I had a self blue Am, she was an adorable bird, laid a smallish blue egg. I gave her to a friend who will keep her to a "geriatric age", rather than culling her from my flock. It was with mixed feelings that I gave her away, but she is doing well in her new flock, and her removal opened a space for younger replacements.

She actually just responded a little bit ago. She said they are standard, some of the eggs were just a bit smaller than normal. Hopefully my hatch goes well.
