They all arrived safe and sound. Much roomier container than the chicks I ordered, too. I was too afraid of the heat to put them out in the big brooder so they have a "daytime brooder" inside to avoid the intense heat and humidity (high of 95 but feels like 105). Hubby is bringing pebbles for their water. The orange ball is one of the cat toy rattles that I bought for them My half grown laying hens still enjoy their cat toys in their coop.

Even my husband admits that the keets are cute. He thinks they're cuter than the chicks.

Our baby boy and I are enjoying watching their antics.

I ordered the hatcheries choice so I am not sure what colors I have. Purely Poultry's website said they can be pearl, lavender, royal purple, or white. There are 15 of the little buggers (we have 36 acres).

Congrats! They are so cute! (I agree with your husband, I think keets are cuter than chicks too)

I had a link to a guinea color chart but I've misplaced it so I'll just post a few pics of my lavender, royal purple, and white keets.

Pied Lavender at 5 days old

Royal Purple at 3 days old

White at 3 days old. The whites will be pure white except a dot of black/grey fluff on their head.

Pied Pearl Grey cock at mature feathering. (Lol I forget his age)

Royal Purple cock at over 1 year (Royal Purples are BEAUTIFUL and I can't wait to get more, we've lost the two we had)

ETA: Sorry the lavender hen link wasn't working before. I think I've fixed it now.

they are so cute! I have a pied pearl and I can't wait to see what it looks like feathered out. I have seen cool pics. I hope you have some royal purple ones

OK, you guys can laugh at me. We have 18 little keets. I guess they threw in a few extra to compensate for losses? Anyway, they seem fine. Perky, eating and drinking well and getting much more energetic by the day. I have them in the big brooder outside now but I am a little worried about such tiny babies being exposed to the world. Their brooder is solid, draft-free, and protected from the elements. I noticed mosquitoes flying around in the brooder tonight. Can they get enough blood to injure the tiny keets? I know it's sounds dumb, but fleas can actually kill a baby kitten...

I don't think you should worry about mosquitoes unless there are just tons of them, never heard of that as a problem. The keets may very well eat them. Well, as long as they are not Minnesota mosquitoes, which may actually carry the keets off!

Not laughing at you, it's a very reasonable question.

And, oh, they are so cute!
