I walked into the coop yesterday evening, just happened to glance at the nest box and there it was....my first egg! I'm so excited. It's so cute and little. It came from one of my four bantam mixes. :celebrate :woot

I didn't expect one so soon! They are 21 weeks today. I knew it was possible with bantams but yesterday was the hottest day we've had yet(105°F) and they moved coops a couple days ago.

I have a suspicion on who laid it as I've only seen one of the four squat for our little serama rooster which from what I've read they are at the point of lay when they begin to squat.

Is it better to store on my counter or the refrigerator?

Congratulations!!! So exciting. As long as you don't wash the bloom off the egg, it is perfectly safe to leave it on the counter for several weeks.
Thank you! Fantastic, I bought them their own little plastic egg holder today and came home to a 2nd. Appears to be from the same girl. I'm impressed, 2 days in a row.
