We decided to put him down, because he was pulling himself around with his wings with his legs behind him. After testing, we also found that he had almost no feeling in his legs. It was very sad, but he was pretty miserable.

It is never an easy decision but there comes a time when you must step up to the plate. I was surprised to be honest he even survived the initial scalping.
That was a devastating injury.

I think you made the right choice personally.

I’ve had a chicken that’s been scalped by the cage he was in before. I cleaned it off an put some antibiotics on it, and now he’s fine, he just has a bald spot now lol. The puncture worries me though. I say clean it, cover it with something, and put antibiotics. Hope he’s okay!

ya I didn’t see the other half of the thread, poor baby. Thanks about my pigeons though! They are my pride vans joy!

OP, I am sorry to tell you this and it will sound a bit harsh, but you should not be breeding your pigeons at all.

You admit you have no space, and that your birds fail to hatch out eggs, and also that squabs get scalped like this.

Sort out your coop design, make more room, perhaps rehome some birds if you have too many.

It is your responsibility to take care of your birds correctly.
