My first Post

I am new to chickens and I don't have any yet. I'm just trying to learn before taking the plunge. I would like to have a couple in our backyard but am clueless on where to find them. I've been researching what I need to start and breeds but don't know how or where to get them. I live in Nebraska.

I found out about the website by a google search. I enjoy music, gardening and distance cycling. We have one dog a Golden retriever who is extremely gentle. How she would react to a chicken remains to be seen.
