My first show! - Follow along the four month journey

In may 2022 I got my first six chickens from a school hatch. I quickly realized what a joy they were. Chickens became my passion. I would spend every waking hour with them. I wanted to show them but they were mixed breeds so I couldn’t. After re homing some roosters I placed an order for three chicks. A blue laced red Wyandotte ( Millicent ) a splash marans ( Dorothy) and two EEs ( Cornelia and Elouise) all 4 weeks about to be 5. They came in April. A couple months earlier a friend had to get rid of her hens so we took them. That’s how I got my buff Orpingtons ( Pip and Squeak ). I have decided to sell Squeak for various reasons. My local fair is more of a backwater type show so it will be a great place to start! The show is in August so this thread will be following the growth of the chicks and my preparations for the show such as YQCA training. I hope I can get some great advice from experienced poultry exhibitors.
