Today there was a big storm for about 20 minutes, luckily the power did not go out and hurt the eggs. I ordered a 2 in 1 hydrometer/thermometer off of Amazon and it is supposed to arrive on Wednesday. I am going to candle the eggs on day 9. How long should I candle each egg for, how many eggs should I candle at a time, and what should I look for?

My notes:
...nothing

I would remove the incubator lid, and candle each egg. It's fine if they cool down for a bit, the hen would be getting off if these are in a nest. Candle each egg until you see movement, and if there is none, put a question mark on the eggs. I candle each egg for about 45-60 seconds, but there's no time limit, as long as they aren't out for the whole day. I would post a candling chart, but it's hard to on my laptop. There's a great article on here called "Candling Pics Progression Through Incubation Of Chicken Eggs". Compare your eggs to those and you should have a good idea of how they are doing. Feel free to post candling pics here too and we'll tell you what we think. :)
