My first time ordering ducklings online?!?

I just ordered 4 welsh harlequin ducklings. Blue Swedish as a back up. I ordered it with my pet chicken. Is there any info from y’all people who have done this before?

I have just have everything ready for them. Brooder warm water and food. You may need to dip their bills in the water when you get them so they know what it is. I always dip my mail orders bills once to show them

I live in Western NC I think I’d wait an have them ship in mid Sept. they may not make it.

Well there’s some always home so I’ll at least have them cared for. They have like a 30% chance of being left in the heat for a couple hours

I’m talking about the shipping part. Riding in the back of a hot truck. From one state to another. Plus someone needs to pick them up at the PO so they aren’t sitting in someones car waiting to be delivered.

Yes, we had to pick our ducklings up at the post office. They had arrived as soon as they opened both times.
If you have multiple post offices nearby I would call ahead of time to see which one they will be delivered to, our ducklings did not go to the post office closest to our house.
I have only ordered from Metzer and they add a cup of gro-gel that ships with the ducklings, has nutrients they can eat while they are in shipping. If that is an option for you to add on I would recommend it to help make their trip a little easier in the heat.

You can do gro gel at Ideal as an add on. I would recommend it.
