I got runner ducks 2 days ago and theyre currently 7 days old and theyre adorable but one of them really likes to dip their head in water and then run around wagging its tail and flapping its wings while squeaking lol! Is this normal?

Also is it normal for my ducklings to be squeaking a lot

And finally how often should i clean their coop out :) its about a meter long and half a meter tall, i get paranoid a few hours after cleaning it out because they poop a lot, ive been cleaning it daily, is that okay? Im just scared,i dont want them to get ill . I also use straw for their bedding :)

Ok, so I just got my first ducks a couple weeks ago :) From what I've read the squeaking is normal, and so is the head dipping. In fact, if the ducks CAN'T dip their heads, they can get eye infections. If you live in a warmer climate, and have a safe place for them, you could probably let them go out side in the day. You should change the bedding once a day to help keep disease away. What are you feeding them?

I'm new to owning ducks too. I have 4 Pekings and they talk non stop - especially when they see me and know they are getting food. It's important for them to have access to water they can dip their whole bill into. It helps to keep their nares clean. Mine love taking trips outside when it's warm and swim in the kiddy pool I have setup for them. They LOVE the water pan I put in the brooder for them - good for them, bad for me (very messy ducks). So, I typically clean it out 1-2 times per day, depending on how wet it gets.

So cute..:)

Yep perfectly normal. Clean the bedding when it gets too wet or stinky (preferably before this happens). Just a heads up, they're going to outgrow that bin fast
