I received my Hovabator this week and have it heating and adjusting for a couple of days. I plan to add some RIR eggs this afternoon. I am excited. I love doing new things and this is exciting for me. My son has been hatching turkeys this last month and did one chicken hatching last year to get himself started. He is getting about 70%. I hope I do that well with my chicks. Wish me luck for a great May 2nd hatching. Also, is there any place specific that is best to place the incubator? I have it on a table in the LR but is close to a window, no sunshine hits it. Will that be an OK spot for it to sit? Temps are constant in the room.

congrats!! isn't it exciting??

my bator is in the basement. temps are low (50-60) but it remains constant no matter what the weather outside is. it just takes some work to get the temp and humidity up. its cold and dry down there

I know nothing about hatching but I would love to try sometime.

Good for you and good luck with your first attempt, at least you can call on your son if you get stuck.

All best wishes for a successful hatch.

Please let us know how you are getting on.
