What an exciting week!!
My 3 EEs and 2 RIRs are all 19 weeks old and we got our first egg on Monday and another today. Both from my EEs. I know who laid the egg today as I saw her in the next box and shortly after I found her egg.
Question: The egg laid on Monday was light green and a bit larger than the smaller olive green egg laid today. The picture doesn't show the color variation well but there is a definite difference. Am I to assume these eggs were laid by two different hens? Or could it be the same girl laid another egg, smaller and with a bit more pigment?
In either case I'm excited like crazy to be getting eggs from my first batch of chickens!!!!
Store bought egg on the far left, egg from Monday in the middle (I blew it out so I could save it) and on the right the egg laid today.
