I understand. I wouldn't want a prize bird around me either. Never
know what he might catch.

Maybe one day you will have all kinds of Red's and you will be able to sell them.

Do you have any in the bator right now? Or are you waiting for his daughters to start laying to work on the next generation?

I do have eggs in the bator from him.

Back when the days were really short I had some fertility issues. Then when I added some girls to his pen I had some more fertility issues. Everything is back on track now. He has 10 girls in his harem (1 RIR pullet from the gorgeous stock BamaChicken used to have) (2 are his daughters). I also have some eggs from Speckledhen's Meg that I am trying to hatch for his pen when I rotate out Jody's buff orps and replace those girls with his next generation of females.

Isn't it funny. We expect the girls not to lay as much when the days shorten but, don't think how it will effect the roos. Same when we introduce new birds.

Glad things are back on track.

Stacey has some of what I hatched for Dec/Jan babies.

When this load I have going hatches the next batch I set will be from "Son of Mosby" pen. He is a gorgeous boy! I am thinking of naming him "Wheeler".
