Today my flock of 43 was tested! 36 Chickens and 7 Ducks. Everything went well now I am waiting on the confirmation number! I'm glad I finally got this done. Its a really easy process to do!

Congrats, I am thinking about going this route also, but my flock is very small and I do not really have a need yet. Soon I will be getting some BLRW eggs, and will see if I find a need at that time. Congrat again.

For my 43 birds that were tested, it only took about 1 1/2 hours and it cost $5 for the test! They only tested the 4 month and older birds. I recommend this to everyone!

What if my flock is mixed? I don't have the chicken breeds separated, would that matter?

edited to say Congrats!

No breeds don't matter. All they do is a blood sample for all or them and swab 30 of there throats with a cotton swab. Very easy process! They came to my house and I held my birds while they swabbed the chickens and ducks.

Nate, How did you catch the birds? Did you just keep them confined in your coop, or did you have to cage them? How did you know which bird was "done". Was it $5. for the whole test or per bird. Do you know the link for the NPIP folks? Congrats!

Thanks! For some reason I thought they had to be saparated by breed in order to be certified.
