Build a coop big enough for 20!

Welcome! I agree--I think French black copper marans as well. Cute fuzzy feet.

I'd build it much bigger than just for your current eight. Chicken math is real! I started with five, now have ten and will be getting three more in July. New coop is under construction.

Yeah that’s what me an my husband are thinking because we are not going to have 8 laying hens and we are a household of 6! He says he knows I will be adding more.. Thank you guys for confirming what I was already think! Might as well an if by chance we don’t at least they will have plenty of room!! I will also be sure to upload a picture once she is fully feather so everyone can see her!!

The only reason I’m not sure she’s a Maran is because she has A LOT of feathers on her feet.. let me see if I have a picture.. ..
Ok this is the best one I have of her feet, it looks like she has bell bottoms on lol!

If she has tons of feathers on her feet and a straight comb developing - she could be a cochin. You can post photos of her at "what breed or gender is this," and find out.
