All of mine are separated by breed and color.
I have 4 standard breeds and 9 bantam breeds/colors.
My silkies are only 3 months old now and are sharing a home with three 2 month old wyandotte mixes and three 2 month old oegb.
They're going out as soon as I get an area fixed and able to handle cold weather. The Holidays have delayed this from happening.
As soon as DH and I can build a small lean-to on to the shed, I will have access to a 12 X 16 covered area that will be converted into 2 8 X 12 chicken pens.
Then I can separate the last few breeds and concentrate on hatching my favorites.
Here's some pics of my setup,
The 3 doors you see show 3 of the pens on the chain link fence side and there are 3 pens behind the ones you see.
If you continue to the left, there is another section that is not divided, then there is another 12 X 16 covered area where we keep things we don't want to get wet, and this will eventually be turned into more pens.
Here's the last pen we built,
Since this pic was taken, we have built an identical pen onto this one on the right side where the plastic is.
I plan to build 2 more behind the last two and they will house my 4 standard breeds and my bantams will all be housed in the area covered by the blue tarp.
Finances and time won't allow me to do it all at once so we work on them a little at a time.
Hope I'm not boring all of you with the extra details but I love sharing when it comes to my chickens and pens.
