My flocks first duckling

Meet the first duckling out of my Black East Indie pair. She hatched yesterday and is now very lively. Sadly she is currently going to be all alone for at least a day because the other eggs haven’t hatched yet.

So she has been spending a lot of time with me so she doesn’t feel so lonely. She does break my heart every time I have had to put her in the brooder.



I am trying to think of a good name for it. It is the baby of Ebony and Houdini.

This duckling is certainly becoming very imprinted on me. But she is so sweet. Yes I am saying she because I did try to vent sex nothing popped out or felt like it should pop out. But she certainly has a bit of that daredevil streak like her father.
