my friend needs help

Hi all I have a friend whos chickens are not well thinks it could be a virus there backs go all scabby and there eyes swell up they stop walking and can only move there head and eventually die days later shes had 5 die in the last month all the same way any ideas what it could be cheers she really up set so I said I would ask around
