my friends the roosters !

I have 2 female roosters ! yup we were told they were def females and guess what - not ! I am heartbroken as I love these guys but I could never even consider keeping them because of my neighborhood. I can not ,will not have them killed . they are friendly and pets , I will not take their life for being born male . please can anyone help me ? I have several friends who think de-crowing is in humane . is it anymore humane than neutering or spaying a dog ? I am so worried about their welfare if they leave my home . any ideas ?

Greetings from College Station, Texas. If your roosters are friendly and gentle, you may be able to give them away. Do you know if there is a local online network of chicken owners. We have a group facebook page devoted to backyard chickens, and an annual fall tour of chicken coops in the area. Chickens and roosters are sometimes given away through this network and event. Good luck.
