My funny looking mutt cockeral

I have a seven week old mutt cockeral that is turning out to be most unusual. Mom is a Welsummer and dad is an EE. He is a single comb, but he appears to have tuffs more than muffs and no wattles. I've never seen this combo before. When I've crossed EE's with pea combs to a single comb, they would be one or the other with the normal accompanying characteristics, ie single comb with wattles or pea combs with muffs and no wattles.

Cyn, is his coloring at all like your young welsummer cockerals? Just wondering. His gradma hen is half RIR. But dad is partly white.

So he must be picking up the red from the RIR. Here is a pic of him when he was about 3 weeks. I thought he looked more like his wellie mom in this pic.
