My garden is to big

What a wonderful dilemma!

I wish I could get my garden to grow in the first place. My tomato plants always turn yellow & brown & die and I hardly get any tomatoes at all! And, well, we won't talk about the rest of the doomed plants....

Gaaah, I wish that I had a garden this year. The prices in stores are skyrocketing. At the very least, I need to try to put in a few rows of greens for the ducks and geese. Everything in their pasture is dead and dry at this time of year.

Our garden was small but we still got a fair amount out of it, what DID grow! Its my first year experimenting with what works best here. I already have a ton of seeds for next years, which will be bigger.

my friend that cans with me informed me today that she has a dehydrator, but doesn't use it because there is no book with it. I told her to bring it to my house we didn't need a book. I use to have one, but my 14yr old(at the time) decided he wanted to make deer jerky, but somewhere in the process decided that it took to long, and turned it off, needless to say I no longer had a dehydrator. Kids what ya do with them?

lilshadow, I have absolutely no sympathy for you whatsoever! So many of my plants were a disappointment this year. My scallop squashes were a disaster! I got the bare minimum out of my tomatoes. We had a blossom end rot problem. My muskmelons all rotted on the vine. Whine...whine...whine. I did end up with a crazy amount of zucchino rampicante-- a type of zucchini. I started making bread with it and two batches in, my oven broke!! Oven's is still broken, zucchini's still in the fridge and we've already consumed all the bread. I'm thinking about shredding what's left and freezing it for later bready endeavors.

That is what happened to my garden last year. I had the farmer across the street load me up with manure this time around. Sorry to hear about your oven. I would freeze the zuc. like you say, you can always use it at a later time. I froze most of mine, I got that reynolds handi-vac that I read on here. Works like a charm.

I agree, think about the Food Bank.. We were also blessed with too much good stuff.. Our garden 'over produced' --the freezers and pantry are full.. and we were able to share with four other families!!

Now, it's the grapes and apples that are loaded.. Dixie

No fair... I have 1500 sq ft and we have already managed to eat up all 100 lbs so far that has been able to come out of it. Bad year for us due to short cold summer. Sounds like you are doing great! My corn is suffering badily and might only get babycorn. LUCKY YOU!
