I started preparing the soil and getting the garden ready to plant this year. I've already started several vegetable and herb seeds. When the seedlings are big enough I can transplant them into the garden. I also planted some fennel today in a separate location near my chicken coop. The fennel will mainly be for my chickens so I wanted it close to the coop for convenience. My big garden is way over on the other end of the yard. The fennel was ready to plant because I purchased it from a local greenhouse. Below is a picture of my new fennel plants.

Here is a list of the seedlings I started and what I will be growing this year besides the fennel.

Beets

Chives

Peas

Radishes

Carrots

Cucumbers

Mixed peppers

Tomatoes

Oregano

Green beans

Coriander

Lettuce

Rhubarb already growing from last year

And dill.

I may possibly add to the garden later and my fiancee has started a very nice flower garden this year as well!

I also planted some flowers near the chickens coop but far enough away they can't get them threw the fence. Just something to help dress it up and make it look nice!

here is a pic of the little flower garden my fiancee started this year. I helped with some of it but it's really her project/hobby. She has done more to it since but I will post a more up to date photo later on.

Nice. Im brand new to gardening, and chickens, and rabbits. But im getting some tiny green thing popping up from the ground and im pretty stoked. This stuff is kind of addictive, but very labor intensive as well. Seems there is always something that needs done.
