Everyone's story is so heart-touching. It's such a blessing to have these animals in our lives, and I know they know the love and compassion we have for them and give it back to us threefold. Blessedly, all our animals have been healthy, although all but one was abandoned by their previous owners.
Crazy4Chicks - I had to laugh when you described Dixie and how she's lazy in the morning and an escape artist. We have a beagle and that's her to a T! She's usually the last one up in the morning and, while she will follow me from room to room, she always finds the most comfortable place to lay (usually one of our beds or a cushy chair). She will climb a 6 foot fence to join me at the barn if I have the nerve to leave her locked in the dog run, and if there's food left on the counter, you can pretty much bet she'll be counter surfing if no one's watching too closely.
There is not a day that goes by that she doesn't make me laugh.
We are all truly blessed by these animal angels that come into our lives. Thanks, everyone, for sharing your stories.
Liz
