My black silkie girl who laid her first egg has not laid another egg since how come she has stopped?

New layers have trouble with plumbing.

I've read that as many as 40% of the eggs that move out of the ovary are reabsorbed and never make it down the oviduct to the outside world.

This isn't a sign of trouble. They just need some time and maturity.
