I hatched out 3 beautiful exchequer leghorn birds late in June. Originally I thought they were Roos but as time went on my opinion changed & two out of 3 of their combs fell over, suggesting that they were female. I was delighted as two out of three ain't bad! Last week the bird who's comb hadn't fell began to crow, and I congratulated myself on my abilities to sex, being quiet a novice. Anyway yesterday bird number 2 began and this morning I'm lying in bed listening to another bird that sounds like it's being strangled, I'm thinking bird number 3 is a boy too! My sexing abilities are not quite what I thought they were
They're 6 months old! My bantam roo started crowing really early on. I think these 3 just wanted a free feed ha ha! I'm guttered because they are so beautiful but I can't keep 3
