I have 4 goose eggs in a still air incubator.
7 days ago they started jiggling, then 3 stoped jiggling two days later
and have not moved since..
One is still jiggling.
My temperatures are from 101.4-102.3 with humidity of 60+%
Yesterday the one egg that is still moving, started peeping, this
morning at 8am it was peeping loudly, and wiggling ALOT, but there is
NO external pip.
this afternoon and into this evening the peeping has slowed,
and the wiggling as become slow going as well.
Do they rest in the evening? is early morning their time to make noise?
I think he is the soul survivor, but this is my first ever hatch with
goose eggs.
I am so close, and I dont have any clue as to why the others may have died.
when the peeping starts I have read that their hatch is near.
but has he become weak this fast? is he exusting? when should I become concerned?
and what should I do if the egg stops wiggling, and he no longer peeps?
I do not want this little fellow to die.
I havent really opened the incubator, and have tried to be calm.
someone please give advise.
he must be strong in that egg, as he alone remains.
ANYONE!!?? PLEASE?

Hi. How long have your eggs been in the incubator? And I think that they´re a bit on the warm side. Ideal temp is 99F. How long has the little one been peeping? Once it is cheeping, it should take about another 24 hours to ext pip, then hatch. Have you read the goose incubation thread? You could always make a small hole in the aircell part of the shell to see what´s happening in there, but make sure the membrane is nice and damp so it can get out.

I got them from a freind , he said they arent far from hatching.
I candled them, and saw they were dark. and not far from hatching.
so they have been in lockdown for 9 days now.
He has gotton very quite over the day, and now isnt moving or peeping.
Is he maybe tired? could he have exusted out?
should I poke a hole in the air cell?
or should I keep waiting.
Im very paranoid about messing with the egg.
But will do as I have to, to save it.
any Ideas on this?
Thanks for replying.

also its a still air incubator.
thus it is set for 101.5 F
and it has stayed close to that, I doubt it is over heating,'
as it has reached higher temp of 102.4 F for 2 hours and
they were all fine.
Yes I have read every single thing I could from the go,
and I am still having issues.
Thanks again
